On May 7 Dawson Creek councillor Shaely Wilbur will be part of the executive board asking Northern B.C. municipalities to help tackle human trafficking and the sex trade in B.C.
Wilbur is at the NCLGA (North Central Local Government Association) annual general meeting in Prince George this week, and as Chair of the Resolution Committee and Director-at-Large of the NCLGA Executive board, has helped to draft a resolution asking local leaders to take stronger stances on the sex trade and human trafficking.
“Do we have it in Dawson Creek? Of course we do. It exists; it exists in every community across our province and country,” Wilbur said.
